With the weather becoming nicer the family is getting the itch to get outside more, unfortunately the fast melt also means giant mud puddles, so I will keep this short as I run to clean up the muddy paw prints off the carpet.
Lots of fun going on this week around town. We are hosting ...

Black History Month celebrates contributions made by African Americans. It was started by a man named Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926. Then, it was called Negro History Week and was celebrated the second week of February. It is now celebrated for the entire month of February in the United States and Canada, and the month of October in the United Kingdom.
This month spend some extra time with your children learning about the extraordinary accomplishments of African Americans. Black history month is the ideal time to recall and reflect ...

It is Sunday afternoon and the kids are restless. What do you do? We know a place, the perfect location, in Old Town Arvada on Grandview Avenue called the D Note. Every Sunday the kids, from 1 month to 12 years old, come and enjoy music, both by listening to it, playing it and dancing to it. Parents relax at their tables, watching the kids dance and play together - great entertainment in and of itself. The children make new friends and greet some old ones. Some even make this a weekly gathering spot.

More than a town located in Alabama, Tuskegee is an idea and an ideal. It is one of the most important African-American achievements in over 100 years!
World War II went from 1939-45, and in 1941 the first African American Airmen reported to duty. Before that, African Americans could only enlist as part of the ground troops. 450 African American pilots finished training in Tuskegee Alabama, and were the original airmen sent into battle. They were separated by race, and the two races were not allowed to interact.
With an ...
