Summer Time
Summer is almost officially here, but in our house it has already begun. No school, no (strict) bedtime, just lots of fun outside! I just can't get enough of being outside. Sitting by the pool or even on my patio I just love the warmth that summer brings and I really love the occasional thunderstorm.
Along with all of the great things that summer brings also comes the dreaded "I'm bored." We have some great ideas to bust the summer boredom in this weeks newsletter. There are also ...

But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile ...
Good Things Come in Three's
Win a $20 Chili's Giftcard!
I love food. All types of food.
One of my all time favorite foods is the Queso and Chips from Chili's. It is the one food that I literally could eat every day. And I mean every day! I love that stuff. There has not been a time that I have been to Chili's in the past 15 years that I haven't ordered it. I can't get enough, and now that I have three boys my love of queso has been passed down.
Mexican food. Need ...

Summer Fun
Beating the Boredom Blues
Like I said in the Welcome article, it's only a matter of time - and by time I mean like minutes - before the dream of summer harmony comes to a (literally) screeching halt! Don't be afraid - just be prepared! Mount an offensive by having a wide variety of activities ready to go. Make it fun and get a jar or small bucket and write out the ideas on pieces of paper. Heck, that and decorating the container could be your first "I'm Bored" activity depending on the age ...

Bugs In a Bag
Summer Snacking
June 21st marks the first day of Summer and we all know that the longer children are at home, the more likely they are to snack. Once the snack schedule is established, it is important to stick to it, this way you won’t find yourself in the kitchen six to seven times (before lunch!) to fill yet another request. Also, keeping easy to eat, no-prep snack items ...
Father's Day
Celebrated on the 3rd Sunday in June Father’s Day was created for children to honor their fathers.
We all know fathers and father figures deserve recognition, but what you may not know is how the tradition turned into a national day.
It all started in 1909 with a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington. While listening to a Mother’s Day sermon, Sonora came up with the idea for Father’s Day as a way to honor her father, Henry Jackson Dodd. After having been raised by ...
