What Are You Going To Be?
Halloween is a constant conversation piece at our house these days. What are you going to be? What is he going to be? What should I be? These are all questions that are flying around our house! I tend to be a last minute costume shopper as my kids seem to change their minds a million times before the big night. Do you have a little prince or princess, a ghost or goblin? Last year was my first October in Georgia, and I was still growing accustomed to the traditions of the South....the warmer weather, the SEC mania, the grits (okay, I'm still not used to those!). So imagine my surprise when my doorbell rang around 9 pm one night, and when I opened my door, all I found was a goodie bag filled with treats and a sign that said "You've Been Boo'ed!" It is Sunday afternoon and the kids are restless. What do you do? We know a place, the perfect location, in Old Town Arvada on Grandview Avenue called the D Note. Every Sunday the kids, from 1 month to 12 years old, come and enjoy music, both by listening to it, playing it and dancing to it. Parents relax at their tables, watching the kids dance and play together - great entertainment in and of itself. The children make new friends and greet some old ones. Some even make this a weekly gathering spot.
