Halloween is here! Well almost here, all of the great Halloween events going on around town are here though!  This weekend is overflowing with fun family events.  There is literally something for everyone and even some non-Halloween type events going on too.

Bottle Cap Spiders


The kids always enjoy a good Halloween craft. This one is both fun & easy! Creepy, crawly spiders are always a Halloween hit. Make some cute decorations for the house and have fun at the same time.

Items Needed:

  • Bottle Cap (any kind of cap will work)
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Googly Eyes
  • Beads (optional)
  • Hot Glue

Instructions:

  • Cut 2 pipe cleaners in half (to make 4 legs)

Join local Littleton based Spirit Paranormal Investigations for an exciting and informative presentation about ghosts and ghost hunting. SpiritPI investigators will share their ghost hunting tools and techniques as well as present real ghost stories and startling evidence, including Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) and strange anomalies that the team has captured on film during paranormal investigations of historic locations throughout Colorado.     Denver Botanic Gardens celebrates Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Día de los Muertos is a festival of “welcome" for the souls of the dead. This celebration will feature live entertainment, artists and dancers, including the “Mariachis San Juan de Colorado,” flamenco dances, Mexican loteria (bingo), and a storyteller. Attendees will also enjoy a “Sugar Skull” making area, an area where they can create “Papel Picado” (paper cut into elaborate designs) and more.     If given the opportunity, most kids would wear their Halloween costumes for the entire week prior to Halloween (as well as Halloween itself!)  Belmar is extending the Halloween celebration with a daytime trick-or-treating event at Belmar’s Annual Trick-or-Treat Street!    All costumed kids are invited to visit participating Belmar shops to strut their Halloween stuff and pick up yummy treats.  Belmar shop participating in Trick-or-Treat Street will give offer treats and candy to young guests.  A list of all participating stores will be available in the Belmar Information Center.  Or, simply look for the orange paper pumpkin in the store windows!

    Thursday, November 10 - Raven Full Moon Hike

    The darkness of night provides a unique backdrop for a hiking adventure. So leave those flashlights at home and hone your night vision as a park naturalist guides you along the trails of Lakewood’s Bear Creek Lake Park and surrounding green spaces. These hikes are designed for the whole family, but keep in mind each one will average an hour and a half of walking and observing. And don’t forget to dress appropriately and wear appropriate shoes for Colorado’s everchanging weather. No dogs please.
