A short school and work week has made for a very busy week around our house.  I just know that there are so many things that I am forgetting (an appointment this morning, a phone call this afternoon) but with only two days left in the week I am hoping I don't get to far behind!!

Pancake and Sausage Muffins


This year one of my goals was to make more and buy less, at least when it comes to convenience foods.  My kids love Pancakes on a Stick, a pancake wrapped around a breakfast sausage on a stick.  I can't blame them, I love anything on a stick!

Make Your Own Snowflakes


There isn't snow fallingoutside right now, but here's a fun craft to do with your child to make a beautiful snowflake!
You will need:
  • white pipecleaner
  • clean, empty mason jar or spaghetti sauce jar
  • 2-3 cups of water
  • 1/3 cup borax (found in the laundry aisle of the grocery store)
  • string, ribbon, or floss
  • spoon

Sunday, January 22 - Baby Boogie

Let the Babies Boogie!
It is Sunday afternoon and the kids are restless. What do you do? We know a place, the perfect location, in Old Town Arvada on Grandview Avenue called the D Note. Every Sunday the kids, from 1 month to 12 years old, come and enjoy music, both by listening to it, playing it and dancing to it. Parents relax at their tables, watching the kids dance and play together - great entertainment in and of itself. The children make new friends and greet some old ones. Some even make this a weekly gathering spot.

This popular newcomer in the Classical Kids series features Mozart's young son, Karl, who longs to be taken from his boarding school to spend more time with his famous father. Students will practive keeping a savings register while playing a life-size board game. These  classes are age appropriate, include hands-on activities, and require advance registration below.
The best thing about our Money Matters classes is that you will earn a $5 Bonus Bucks Certificate for attending the class!  After class you can take that certificate to the bank and deposit it into your account - or use it to open a savings account.  We're talking free money into your savings.

Wednesday, February 1 - Little Fledglings Preschool Nature Hour

Explore a theme each month with stories, songs, crafts, and activities exploring wildlife and the natural world. This program introduces science skills and encourages active outdoor play. February: “Seed Need” Children explore seeds as food for people and animals and learn how animals spread seeds.
