Delicious Fall Apple Recipes


APPLE CINNAMON PANCAKES

   1 cup all-purpose flour ( I use whole wheat)
   1 teaspoon baking powder
   1/2 teaspoon baking soda
   1/4 teaspoon salt
   2 tablespoons sugar
   2 teaspoons cinnamon
   1 egg lightly beaten
   1 cup nonfat buttermilk
   1 tablespoon vegetable oil
   1 apple.  Skin and cut out seeds. Dice in very small chunks.
   Vegetable cooking spray

       Combine first 6 ingredients in large bowl; make a well in center of mixture. Combine egg, buttermilk and oil, and add to dry ingredients;
stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Add apples ...

Crafts for a rainy day, or any day!

APPLE HAND PRINT CRAFT

What you will need:
White printer or construction paper
Brown paint for tree
Green paint for leaves
Red paint for apples

Paint your child's arm and hand brown.  Press the arm and hand down on the paper as shown in the photo above.  This creates the tree trunk and branches.  Next let your child dip a finger (or five) in green paint
and make finger prints for the leaves.  Last have your child make red

Saturday, September 25 - Wild Times at St. Vrain

Enjoy a family outdoor skills clinic at St. Vrain State Park in celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day. Participants can learn how to identify wildlife and how to safely shoot a bow and arrow, as well as a .22 caliber rifle (ages 7 and up). Take your family fishing, and learn about the boating safety guidelines.

This multimedia extravaganza is a show unlike any other.  Cavalia celebrates the bond between humans and horses, virtually reinventing the equestrian arts. Saturday, October 9 through Sunday, October 10 - Pumpkin Festival

Thousands of pumpkins will be ripe for the picking in the 10-acre pumpkin patch at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. Many activities will surround the search for that perfect jack o’ lantern or pumpkin pie gourd, including FREE amusement rides, pony rides and entertainment stages. Kids will enjoy the Kids Corral, which will be filled with fun arts and crafts, cider press demonstrations, free face painting and educational activities. Visitors can also experience ghost tours of the 1860s historical homestead located on the Chatfield grounds, encounters with birds of prey provided by HawkQuest, antique tractor rides and much more.
