Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies


Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 can (15 oz.) Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 12-oz. pkg. Chocolate Chips Cookies
Directions:Preheat oven to 375° F. Grease baking sheets.

I was just beginning to adjust to September and low and behold it is November already.  Where in the world has the fall gone?  Every year the same thing happens around this time of year.  I begin to panic thinking about the upcoming holidays.  From dinners, to presents to visits from a man in a red suit, there just seems to be so much to do and as usual not enough time to do it all.

Saturday, November 6 - Home Depot Kid's Workshop

The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects.  This weeks project is a Spice Rack.

The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.

In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Sunday, November 7 - Baby Boogie

Let the Babies Boogie!
It is Sunday afternoon and the kids are restless. What do you do? We know a place, the perfect location, in Old Town Arvada on Grandview Avenue called the D Note. Every Sunday the kids, from 1 month to 12 years old, come and enjoy music, both by listening to it, playing it and dancing to it. Parents relax at their tables, watching the kids dance and play together - great entertainment in and of itself. The children make new friends and greet some old ones. Some even make this a weekly gathering spot.

There are a lot of places in the metro area that have Kids Eat Free (or practically free) Nights!  Here is a list of ones that we know of, and we would love to hear about any that you know to add to our list!  Always call ahead to confirm that they are still having a Kid's Eat Free Night because restaurants can change these at any time.

Stortimes Around Town


Storytimes are designed for specific age groups. Please bring your child to the appropriate one.  Baby Time is for babies up to 2 years, unless otherwise specified.  Toddlers are 2-3 years old.  Preschoolers are 4-6 years old.  Family Nights are for all ages.  Children under 4 years must be accompanied by an adult during all storytimes.
