Our party was set up as a school day, but only fun and play were found at our school! Though we did learn about some fabulous products from our amazing sponsors.
Art Class:
Our students enjoyed designing clothes for their very own paper boys or girls sponsored by OshKosh B'gosh. But the highlight of the session was creating their very own pencil cases using just zipper disposal bags and colorful Duck Tape. They were fun and easy! I could make a bunch of these myself, I can think of several useful ideas for these babies!
Cores:
The students tried out the new game Expanders from SimplyFun. It turned out to be a bit more tricky than other SimplyFun games we have tried in the past. The rules were a bit more difficult to comprehend for most, so many kids came up with new ways to play with the numbers. I know SimplyFun has YouTube videos on how to play many of their games, which makes it great for those of us that are better learning through visual instructions.
Flik and Flak from FlikFlak watches were on hand to entertain with some coloring pages and Dramamine was on hand with a maze of a curvey-durvy mountain road.
Lunch/Recess:
For "lunch" the kids and parents had the opportunity to try samples from Jimmy Dean's Pancake and Sausage on a Stick. The fun and easy breakfast on the go! They also tried PBJ's from Santa Cruz Organics, Chobani Kids TM and Chobani Tots TM yogurts and popchips for all! The popchips were a huge hit! I think they would have been, even without the new characters (Frozen...Star Wars) on the bags!
After lunch, we took it outside for Recess to test run the Micro Kickboards. They tried both the Micro Maxi Scooter (best for ages 5-12) and the Micro Mini Scooter (for ages 3-5) and were undoubtedly the product highlight of the party.
GYM:
Master Scott and his excellent instructors from Excel Taekwondo took the kids through a fun and engaging introductory class focused on anti-bullying. The kids loved it! They learned about respect, confidence and self control and they all had an opportunity to use their strength and focus to break a board with their bare feet! Super cool!!
