- Plastic tablecloths in your favorite team colors
- Duck Tape
- Scissors
- Tape measure
What You Do:
1. Cut the tablecloth in 4 inch wide strips. The length will be determined by how tall your cheerleader is and how long you wish the skirt to be. It can be trimmed to the appropriate size later.
2. Measure the waist of your little one. You will need some space for this. Lay out the the amount of Duck Tape needed to go around your cheerleaders waist. (It's better to go a little over than under, you can trim if it's too long.) Be sure to lay it down with the sticky side face up.
3. Place the strips of tablecloth in a pattern that works for you. I had a few extra orange strips from our Spirit Sticks, so I threw some of those in there. Cover all of the tape with strips or tablecloth. Place another piece of tape on top of the strips to secure it all in place.
7. Turn the skirt over so the sticky side of the tape is facing up. Right next to the edge of the skirt, cut the tape approximately 1/4" from the bottom and 1/4" from the top. Being careful not to cut all the way through.
8. Fold one edge of the tape to the middle, then finish with the other side. You have now created a tie! It's a good idea to reinforce with a bit of tape to that it doesn't tear off with repeated use. Repeat steps 6-8 to create a ribbon on the opposite side.
