Taking Time to Focus On The Important Things In Life!

Hello!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer! I can't believe it's almost half over! By now my kid is wound up by the lack of routine...and I realize I have some work to do to get back on track. The absence of consistency is really taking a toll on all of us. ME included. (Big time!) We are off to a family wedding this weekend, and my husband starts a new job next week. So, beginning Monday...schedule's back on! Could be a bumpy start, but I know we will all be better off for it.

I came across this shared article, "Know Different: Live Art - Lessons I Learned" by a fellow Mac Mom, Carissa Garabedian. Although my daughter is not on the spectrum, and I in no way face the same issues that Carissa does on a daily basis, much of the article really resonates with me. We as parents often face things we don't want to do, or find reasons not to for one reason or another. Then she said this...

"Parenting is hard. It's being able to adapt and change, to love and listen and to admit when you are about to make a terrible mistake because you’re just terrified."

See in our family, we've been going through a lot of transitions. It's been hard for us all. As a parent, I've been terrified because I just want to do the right thing. But you know what? All my daughter really needs is me and my full attention.

Therefore, in light of our family transitions, I will not be publishing next week so that I may focus 100% on our family. Thank you for your understanding. The calendar is FULL and I have added events for over two weeks to this newsletter! You should be plenty busy while I'm away...
