FREE ADMISSION AT MUSEUMS & STATE PARKS FOR COLORADO DAY

Colorado officially became a state on August 1, 1876 and it's time to party! To celebrate Colorado's 140th birthday, the History Colorado Center's Colorado Day 2016 includes FREE admission, Colorado's most talented pigs, the Denver Broncos Junior cheerleaders, gold panning, crafts, exhibitors, and more!
 
Several other History Colorado Museums are also offering free admission and special events and activities:
  • Byers-Evans House Museum (Denver)
  • El Pueblo History Museum (Pueblo)
  • Fort Garland Museum & Pike's Stockade (Fort Garland)
  • Fort Vasquez Museum (Platteville)
  • Healy House Museum & Dexter Cabin (Leadville)
  • Trinidad History Museum (Trinidad)
Colorado Parks & Wildlife is also joining the fun with free admission at all 42 Colorado State Parks on Monday, August 1. Park entrance fees are waived, but activities like fishing and camping will still require a valid license and permit.

Active duty and veterans are admitted free to Colorado State Parks for the month of August! The military member or veteran must show proof of military service (photo ID, DD-214, VA medical card) and obtain the free pass from any Colorado State Park or CPW office. Military member or veteran must be in the vehicle using the pass. All other park fees (camping, etc.) are still charged.
