Sponge Balls

Need a new, fun way for kids to stay cool in the summer? Love water balloons but hate picking up small pieces of plastic all over the yard? Give sponge balls a try. They are softer than a snow ball and inexpensive to make!

There are endless sponge ball games kids can play; maybe they will even be encouraged to join you in some house cleaning?

You will need:

  1. 3 Dry Sponges (new)
  2. Scissors
  3. String

Directions

  1. Cut sponges into approx. 1/2 inch strips with scissors.
  2. Lay strips on top of each other in three layers with 5 to 6 to each layer.
  3. Tie them across the middle with string; knot them tightly to form a ball.
  4. Soak the sponge balls in water and have fun!
