The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek
The perfect place for winter getaway!
Recently my family had the opportunity to head to the mountains for a weekend getaway at the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek. The beautiful Westin property is nestled right outside the gates of Beaver Creek. When you enter the building you are greeted with a roaring fireplace and magnificent views of the mountains.
With three boys it can be hard to find a hotel that has rooms to comfortably accommodate our family. The Westin Riverfront at Beaver Creek had an amazing two bedroom suite waiting for us. The room had a full kitchen and dining area, living room with fireplace and a balcony in addition to the two bedrooms. It was the perfect size for our family to spread out and enjoy our time together without feeling on top of one another. The hotel offers a variety of room types to suit every size family.
The hotel is overflowing with amenities and activities. Here were some of our favorites:
- The Gondola. One of the true highlights for our boys was the gondola. There is a gondola that departs straight from the hotel and drops you off right at the lift for Beaver Creek. From the top you can hop on a chairlift and hit the slopes or hop a shuttle to the heart of Beaver Creek Village. We enjoyed quite a few rides back and forth just enjoying the scenery.
- The pool and hot tubs. There are not many places that you can hop in a pool in Colorado in December. The Westin Riverfront is one of them. In additional to their Olympic size heated swimming pool they have three infinity edged hot tubs nestled against the river. Sitting in the hot tub while snowflakes fall around you is truly one of life’s great pleasures.
- The food. The Westin has three food restaurant options to choose from in addition to room service. Cima is a decadent but family friendly delight. With low lighting and amazing food this restaurant is a great way to end your day. The Lift is a cozy restaurant that is perfect for breakfast or a quick evening meal. The Market is available to stop in and get a quick snack or stock up on some necessities. Don’t forget room service. There is nothing better than fresh baked cookies and milk delivered right to your door.
- Kids Club and Teen Lounge. Kids ages 5-12 will enjoy fun programs that educate - whether highlighting our natural environment during Colorado Safari day, learning about Native Americans, miners, mountain men or Hispanic cultures on Colorado Explorers day. For teens ages 12-16, The Westin Riverfront offers the 7430 Teen Program. They have teamed up with Beaver Creek Loves Teens to offer fun, supervised outings including snowshoeing, ice skating, tubing and more!
- Location, location, location! Located in the heart of Vail Valley the Westin is close to everything! Skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowshoeing, ice skating. You name it and it is only minutes away. The Westin is the perfect starting point for all of your winter adventures.
