I am really excited to bring you this review of Big Hero 6! My boys had been literally counting down the days until its premier after seeing the commercials, so they were PUMPED UP when we were invited to watch it at Cinebarre! I was expecting a maybe-better-than-average kids' movie...
Well I have to say that I loved Big Hero 6! It was the best children's movie I have seen in a long time, and my husband says it's the best children's movie he has *ever* seen as an adult. My 3rd-grader says Big Hero 6 is "heartwarming and has a lot of action." My 1st-grader says it's "a really good movie and I cried a lot." (Note: This momma cried, too!)
Reasons I loved Big Hero 6 so much:
- I love the positive message, that it's cool to be a nerd. Really cool.
- The humor in Big Hero 6 is sophisticated. There is absolutely no crude humor (no fart/booger jokes - yay!), and there are some funny parts that, while funny to kids and adults alike, are especially funny for adults - without being at all inappropriate. I'm not going to spoil it for you, though.
- I am in love with Baymax, one of the two protagonists (the big, marshmallow-looking one). Oh my goodness, he is the cutest hero EVER. I want one.
- The animation is amazing. Check out the characters' hair - so realistic!
- There is a lot of excitement throughout.
- Baymax and Hiro (the other protagonist) both evolve during the story.
