Did you know that February 20th is National Cherry Pie Day?

I love cherry pie!  It's my favorite pie...as is lemon meringue and fresh peach, yum!  We will honor this Cherry Pie Day by making these little treasures.

INGREDIENTS:
Ready To Bake Pie Crusts
1 Can Pie Cherries
1 Egg white
Sugar

Preheat oven to 400.  Line cookie sheets with parchment paper (really helpful here in the clean up!!).

Unroll the pie dough onto the cookie sheets.  Cut into 4" or 5" circles (we used heart shaped cookie cutters).  Remove excess dough from cookie sheets.

Place approximately two TBS of filling onto the center each round of dough.  Fold the dough in half.

Using a fork, crimp the edges.

Brush egg white on top and edge of each pocket.  Sprinkle with sugar.  Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for ten minutes.  Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Enjoy!
