2015 Earth Day Celebration at Lakewood Heritage Center

Join us for the City of Lakewood’s Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lakewood Heritage Center (801 S. Yarrow St.  Lakewood 80226). This free community event is organized by the Employee’s Committee for a Sustainable Lakewood and was created to showcase companies, agencies and organizations that provide products, services, resources and information for residents to make more sustainable choices.

Special attractions and demonstrations at the event include:
  • Climbing Wall
  • 40 West Kids' Art Activity
  • Beekeeping Demonstration Composting
  • Kid's Area by Macaroni Kid
  • Film Screening of The Greenest Building
  • Film Screening of Bag It
  • Garden Planning and Seed Starting Workshop by Sprout City Farms
  • Cloth and Shoe Donation Collection by arc Thrift Stores
  • Electronics Recycling (fees apply)
  • Free Bike Valet by Campus Cycles and the Lakewood Bicycle Advisory Group
  • Over 30 Exhibitors and Vendors

Celebration Hours: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Electronic Waste Recycling: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

10:30 a.m. - Beekeeping Workshop
11:00 a.m. - The Greenest Building movie presentation by Historic Preservation
12:00 p.m. - Garden Planning and Seed Starting Workshop by Sprout City Farms
1:00 p.m. - Bag It movie presentation by Sustainable Neighborhoods Program
2:00 p.m. - Composting demonstration
