Jefferson County Public Libraries -
Jefferson County Public Libraries has a goal to read 1,000,001 minutes this summer and they need YOUR help! The 1,000,001-minute Summer Reading Challenge will continue from May 29 through August 14. Participants who sign up and log their reading minutes on jeffcolibrary.org can win prizes throughout the summer and will be entered into a grand prize drawing to win a Leapfrog tablet (for one lucky pre-reader) or a Kindle Fire HD (for one lucky child, teen and adult).
Kids and teens will receive a free book and prize pack upon sign up (while supplies last). Celebration events will be held in each library with fun activities for all ages. Kids can go on a scavenger hunt for book celebrities, bling out a set of glasses, race with an egg and a spoon, and much more. Teens can test their engineering skills as they build a paper rollercoaster. Everyone can participate in a community art project by local artist AWOL.
