Come join the fun at Chatfield State Park for Slocum Cabin Days and take a step back in time. History will come to life as mountain men and women demonstrate skills and activities in costumes and encampments of the 19th century. Events include a Rocky Mountain Living History Society mountain man rendezvous, council fire and flag retirement ceremony, old-fashioned crafts, story telling, music, cast iron cooking, cannon drill & firing & more. You can also take nature walks and look at the park’s collection of skins & skulls. Then go and take a tour of one of the oldest structures still here, Slocum Cabin, built in 1852.
