Staying in town for Labor Day? I’ve got you covered with these events!


34th Annual Taste of Colorado

When: Fri, Sept. 1st-Mon, Sept. 4th. Hours vary by day, see website

Where: Civic Center Park, Downtown Denver

Why Go? Food, Music, Shopping, Arts & Crafts. This is a signature event in Denver. So much to do, there is something for everyone!

Flashback Friday-Wayne’s World @ 88 Drive in Theatre

When: Fri. Sept. 1st 6 p.m.

Where: 88 Drive In Theater 8780 Rosemary St., Commerce City 80022

Why go? Have your kids been to a drive in theater? Show them a whole different way to see a movie. This event may be for either really young children (that may sleep the whole time) or older children that you think will like Wayne’s World as much as you did.

First Friday Art Walk

When: Fri. Sept. 1st. 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Where: Art District on Santa Fe, 80209

Why go? Free event with more than 100 art galleries, artists’ studios and creative businesses to see.  A free-guided shuttle loops every 20 minutes from 10th & Osage light rail stop, down Kalamath and back north on Santa Fe Drive.

Denver Art Museum Free First Saturday

When: Sat. 2nd, 10 a.m.-5p.m.

Where: Denver Art Museum 100 W 14th Ave Pkwy

Why go:  Kids love art too! They always have crafts for kids and it is a fun walking through this architectural gem.

Cumbia Festival

When: Sun, 3rd 3p.m.-10 p.m.

Where: Levitt Pavilion 1380 W. Florida Ave. 80223

Why go? If  you like to dance or love Latin music you will love this event! Plus, it is FREE.

Open Farm & Music! Labor Day Fundraiser Show

When: Mon, Sept 4th 5p.m.-9p.m.

Where: Broken Shovels Farm, 8640 Dahlia St. Henderson 80640

Why go?  If you or the kids love farm animals this is an event for you! This farm rescues animals and you can come give them some love. Nathen Kalish will
 be performing and food truck Wanderculinarilust will be there.  Be sure to bring some veggies to feed the animals. Oh, and BYOB!

How Much:  Tickets are $10 for adults $5 per child under 12

Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off

When: Sept. 2nd-4th. Times vary by day see website

Where: Memorial Park, 1605 E. Pikes Peak Ave. Colorado Springs

Why go? Yes, this one is out of Denver but not too far. The kids will love seeing the giant balloons (60+ balloons). Plus they will also have chainsaw carving, doughnut eating contest, skydiving, wakeboarding, dragonfly paddle yoga, sumo wrestling bubble balls!

Colorado State Fair

When: Aug. 25th-Sept. 4th

Where: Pueblo, Colorado

Why go? A 2 hour drive will give you Rodeo, carnival rides, horse shows, parades, concerts and food. Our states largest fair!
