For the past four days I've been tucked away at the Montauk Yacht Club on Long Island with hundreds of other Macaroni Kid Publishers for our annual Meet Up.Â
What was I doing? Well here's a short list:
- ​I learned all about Macaroni Kid — its founders Joyce and Eric, its community of publishers, the variety of ways MacKid is building community across the country --- and I met a whole tribe of supercool women raising kids like me, and running a website.
- I attended talks by world-renowned speakers Kelly Hoey, Ted Rubin, & Meredith Atwood, which left me feeling inspired and motivated to continue to grow and improve Macaroni Kid Lakewood-Littleton.
- I learned a ton from other publishers who are doing some really cool things on their sites and in their newsletters.
- I tested some virtual reality games courtesy of ESRB, and some snacks, products, and games from a ton of sponsors.
- I enjoyed delicious meals courtesy of Eggland's Best, That's Tasty Organics, and Cuisinart (and also got to test their products).
- I attended an incredible awards dinner courtesy of I Love NY.
- I took an awesome boat excursion aboard The Viking Classic, hosted by Discover Long Island.Â
- And I brought home some incredible swag to give away to my readers (details coming soon). 🎉

It was exciting, and tiring, and so, so, motivating!
Great for me, and fantastic for you.
I can't wait to start putting some of what I learned into action and see what you all think.Â
