The Hustle (Comedy • PG-13) This remake of the '80s classic comedy, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, stars two of my personal favorites — Anny Hathaway and Rebel Wilson — as con artists, each targeting a tech billionaire.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu (Comedy Adventure | PG) In this live-action version of the worldwide phenomenon where people collect Pokémon to do battle, a young teen with a chip on his shoulder comes across an intelligent Pikachu — voiced by Ryan Reynolds — who longs to become a detective. From Deadpool to Pokémon to hilarious Twitter banter... Reynolds has some serious RANGE! Still, it's going to take a lot of wine to convince me to go see this one.
POMS (Comedy | PG-13) A group of older women living in a retirement community decide to form a cheerleading squad. This will be a sweet feel-good movie that you can take your mom and your grandma to for Mother's Day!
Tolkien (Biographical Drama | PG-13) Fans of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy will adore this movie based on the life of legendary author J.R.R. Tolkien. The events he experienced and relationships he developed as a young man helped shape his imagination to create the stories that continue to enthrall readers around the globe.
The White Crow (Biographical Drama | R) Rudolph Nureyev was one of the most gifted dancers of the 20th century. While performing in Paris in 1961, when Russian citizens lived behind an iron curtain, he successfully defected, eventually becoming an Austrian citizen. It looks like a compelling and exciting action story accented with incredible ballet performances.

Based on the acclaimed bestseller, which received numerous accolades including 2016 National Book Award Finalist and the New York Times Notable Children’s Books of 2016, The Sun is Also a Star tells the story of two teens, one magical day, and finding love against all odds.

Aladdin (Adventure | PG) This thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney's animated classic tells the tale of the charming "street rat" Aladdin (Mena Massoud), the courageous and determined Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott), and the larger-than-life Genie (Will Smith) who may be the key to their future.
Booksmart (Comedy | R) Amy (Kaitlyn Dever) and Gigi (Billie Lourd) hit the books through high school but realize too late they should have played a little more. Can they cram four years of good times into the night before graduation? It's time for a night out with your besties. (Side note: Jason Sudeikis did get a part but I heard he had to sleep with the director! 😉)

Rocketman (Drama | R) Part biography, part fantasy, Rocketman explores the story of Sir Elton John (Taron Egerton) and his breakthrough years in an epic musical, starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Like the singer, the movie looks to be a bit unusual. But what a soundtrack!

After Jean Gray (Sophie Turner) is hit by a mysterious cosmic force, she develops incredible powers that corrupt her and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. The X-Men must decide whether to save her... or fight her.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 (Animated Comedy | PG) The sequel to 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day will see the return of writer Brian Lynch (Minions) and director Chris Renaud (Despicable Me series, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax). Like the first one, it really is the cast that makes me want to see it: Dana Carvey, Harrison Ford, Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, Lake Bell, Nick Kroll, Bobby Moynihan, Patton Oswalt, and Tara Strong... just to name a few!

Men in Black: International (Action Comedy | PG-13) The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest, most global threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization. We loved the originals starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, but with cute Chris Hemsworth as Agent H and a female lead with Tessa Thompson as Agent M, we might love this one even more!

One day, after a mysterious global incident, Jack wakes up to discover that The Beatles never existed and he is the only one who knows some of the greatest rock songs ever written. Directed by Academy Award winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) and featuring new versions of some of The Beatles' most beloved songs, this movie is not to be missed!

Spider-Man: Far From Home (Super Hero Action | PG-13) Tom Holland returns as the geeky teen-turned-superhero, this time facing off against Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) on a European vacation. Zendaya will appear as Mary Jane. But alas, rumor has it that Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) will NOT be making an appearance in this film.

The Farewell (Comedy | PG) Billi (Awkwafina) returns to the town in China where she was born because the family's beloved matriarch, Nai-Nai, only has weeks to live. Instead of telling Nai-Nai the truth, the family decides to plan a wedding to gather everyone to Nai-Nai's side. It looks like a funny, uplifting story. Grab your mom, your besties, and your besties' moms!
Stuber (Action/Comedy | TBD) When a mild-mannered Uber driver named Stu (Kumail Nanjiani) picks up a passenger (Dave Bautista) who turns out to be a cop hot on the trail of a brutal killer, he's thrust into a harrowing ordeal where he desperately tries to hold onto his wits, his life... and his five-star rating!

The Lion King (Action-Adventure | TBD) One of my favorite stories of all time is now a live-action feature film and it looks simply gorgeous! James Earl Jones returns as the voice of Mufasa, and the rest of the cast is just as perfect, from Seth Rogen as Pumbaa to John Oliver as Zazu. Just thinking about seeing this movie makes me smile!

Artemis Fowl (Sci-Fi Adventure | PG) Based on the book by New York Times best-selling author Eoin Colf, Artemis Fowl is the young and wealthy descendent of criminal masterminds who will do anything to find his missing father. In the process, he and his Butler discover an ancient, underground world of fairies, and Artemis Fowl concocts a plan to kidnap the Fairy LEPreco Officer Holly Short. I've never read the books but I am so intrigues by the trailer!
The Kitchen (Crime Drama | R) Are you ready to see the serious side of Tiffany Haddish? Haddish, Melissa McCarthy, and Elisabeth Moss play mob wives who become mobsters themselves, pitting themselves against the FBI, rival gangs, and event their own husbands. I have to admit, I'm intrigued!

The Angry Birds Movie 2 (Animated Comedy | TBD) Not much is known about this sequel to the 2016 film but it is starring comedic geniuses like Peter Dinklage, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Rachel Bloom. Expect a healthy dose of bathroom humor and cartoon violence.
Blinded by the Light (Comedy/Drama | TBD) Many teens who grew up in the '80s connected with Bruce Springsteen's music... even if they lived across an ocean 3,000 miles away. This uplifting movie from the director of Bend It Like Beckham is already being hailed as one of the best movies of the year. Adapted from Sarfraz Manzoor's memoir, Greetings from Bury Park.
Where'd You Go, Bernadette (Comedy/Drama | PG-13) Bernadette Fox (Cate Blanchett) has it all. When she suddenly vanishes, her husband and daughter embark on an adventure to solve the mystery of her disappearance. Based on Maria Semple's 2012 bestselling novel.
