A Note From Your Publisher: The one about the dumb internet 📝

By Christen Reiner, Macaroni Kid Lakewood-Littleton & Macaroni Kid Denver Editor and Publisher April 2, 2021

Hey Mac Families!

OH.

EM.

GEE.

My internet is pretty decent, most of the time. Occasionally our streaming show will reboot briefly or our phones will give us the spinning wheel of death, but that is infrequent at best. And it always comes right back on.

Until it doesn't.

WHY IS IT ALWAYS ON A BLEEPITY BLEEPING FRIDAY?

I'm sure you've guessed by now that I experienced this dilemma this week. Friday afternoon, working merrily away on my MK newsletter, and BAM. Internet gone. I tried my usual fixes. Nothing. I chatted with customer service. No luck there, either. I set up a service appointment. For the next day. It stunk, but what was I going to do? It was what it was. I would deal with it til my internet heroes arrived.

And then it happened. The internet came back to life, and I got a text saying that they had found the problem and that they were canceling my appointment. Wait....noooooooooooooooooo!

You KNOW that internet shut right back down, and I was stuck with no internet, and no appointment to fix said internet. And by this time, they were closed. For the weekend.

Our annual "Hop" Easter Weekend Movie Night has been suspended indefinitely, my kid cannot play Fortnite (oh, the tragedy!), and my other kid is using all of our good cellular data as we speak. And it's 9pm on Friday.

Send help.

Peace ☮️, Love ❤️, & Macaroni 🌼,

Christen
