Whether your kids have grown up on the slopes, or are tackling the mountains for the first time, they can do it for free this season if they are in Kindergarten through 5th grade with the Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack. For several ski seasons, Epic SchoolKids has been an important way for Vail Resorts to give back to the local community while ensuring that future generations have access to the sports of skiing and snowboarding in Colorado.
What is the Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack?
The Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack is a FREE program for children enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th Grade during the 2024/25 winter season. This program provides four days of skiing and riding at each of the state’s top-ranked resorts: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte. That's 20 free days on the slopes! No purchase necessary!
How Can We Enroll in the Program?
If your child previously had an Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack, you can start the renewal process by sending an email to epicschoolkids@vailresorts.com and include:
- Parent's name and birthday
- Children's name(s) and birthday(s)
- Email address
- Phone number
- Physical address
If this is your child's first time, make an appointment by visiting the Epic Mountain Gear website and select the "NEW Epic SchoolKids Registration" option.
- Your child must be present at the appointment to register.
- Bring a copy of your child's report card, student ID, birth certificate, or passport.
- Passes will be printed at the store when you register.
First-Timer Lesson Included!
Epic SchoolKids offers one free first-timer lesson and a rental package for any participating child who has never skied or snowboarded. The free first-timer lesson and rental package must be redeemed as a package and is limited to one total per child (not one per participating resort).
The lesson is subject to availability and is only offered select weeks throughout the season:
- Monday, December 2, 2024 – Saturday, December 14, 2024
- Monday, January 6, 2025 – Friday, January 17, 2025
- Tuesday, January 21, 2025 – Friday, January 31, 2025

OK, What's the Catch?
Really, there's no catch! There are certain restrictions, however. The Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack is restricted during the following holiday periods:
- Friday, November 29, 2024 – Saturday, November 30, 2024
- Thursday, December 26, 2024 – Tuesday, December 31, 2024
- Saturday, January 18, 2025
- Saturday, February 15, 2025 – Sunday, February 16, 2025
