Local Lunar New Year Celebrations In and Around Denver

The Denver Metro offers lots of events to celebrate the Year of the Dragon in 2024

Did you know that the Lunar New Year Day is an official state holiday in Colorado? Although the Year of the Dragon officially kicks off on February 10, Colorado designates the first Friday every February as its Lunar New Year holiday. 

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon in the Denver Metro this year! There are lots of options to choose from, starting at the beginning of February.

Colorado marks its inaugural observed Lunar New Year in 2024, ushering in the Year of the Dragon. Head to the Far East Center for the largest Lunar New Year event in the area to celebrate with traditional ceremonies, performances, and a lively atmosphere as the community comes together. The Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association and the Great Wall Chinese Academy are ushering in the Year of the Dragon with traditional music, exciting Chinese Dragon and Lion dances, beautiful folk dances, and amazing Chinese martial arts-Kung Fu demonstrations.
