We are getting a new library and we are excited!
Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) has officially purchased an existing property at 11100 Bradford Road in Littleton for a new library to serve the southern portion of Jefferson County. The JCPL Board of Trustees and staff have been working diligently to bring this project to life and are thrilled to be moving it forward.
The new site will support an approximately 40,000 square foot library building with room for future expansion, as well as sufficient parking to support events and programs. In addition, this project will promote outdoor connection and positively contribute to the local area.
Facilitated community engagement is now underway, with tentative plans for design to start in 2025 and construction to begin in 2026. The South County Library project is fully funded thanks to the taxpayers of Jefferson County and the fiscal stewardship of the Library's Board of Trustees.
“We are thrilled to be adding a vital community hub to this area,” shared JCPL Executive Director Donna Walker. “This location will create new job opportunities, offer resources for local businesses, support area families and students and provide opportunities for community connection.”
