Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is returning this year! Take these steps to make sure you get your benefits:
- Already have a Summer EBT card from last summer? Keep it! We may put this year's money on your existing card.
- If you are on SNAP, Colorado Works, or Medicaid, make sure your mailing address is up to date through PEAK or your county office. We will use that contact information for Summer EBT.
Benefits will begin being issued in May 2026.
Are you eligible?
Eligible students include:
- Those who qualify for free or reduced-price meals
- Those whose families are receiving other assistance benefits, including SNAP, Colorado Works (TANF), or Medicaid (and meet NSLP income guidelines)
- Those who attend a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and whose household meet income guidelines for free or reduced-price school meals
Colorado automatically enrolls most eligible students in the Summer EBT program. Some students may need to apply directly. You may need to apply if you do not have an up-to-date household income form on file with your school. This could include students recently enrolled in a new school or those who have recently moved to Colorado.
Things to know
- In the coming weeks, eligible students will receive an approval letter in the mail - keep an eye out!
- If you received benefits in 2025 hold on to your Summer EBT card - 2025 benefits will be automatically loaded onto your existing card. Newly eligible students will be sent a new card in the mail.
- If you lost your 2025 card, call the Support Center to be sent a new one.
