National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event started in 1984. The goal of NNO is to create a sense of community and to promote crime prevention and safety awareness. This is also a great opportunity to meet neighbors, get to know local law enforcement officers, and work together to make the Lakewood and Littleton communities a safer place.
In the 42 years since it's inception, 38 million + people across 17,000 communities have come together on the first Tuesday of August to take part in National Night Out events such as block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events.
This year, National Night Out takes place the evening of Tuesday, August 5! Check out some of the local events below!
🚨 National Night Out Belmar Ice Cream Social
- Location: Belmar Plaza, Lakewood
- Come for the ice cream, stay for the community vibes with Lakewood Police, Fire, Medical, and other key community organizations that keep our community safe
- 4pm-6pm
🚨 National Night Out at Provincetown Landing Clubhouse
- Location: Provincetown Landing, Littleton
- It's time for us to come together in food, fun and friendship.
- 4:30pm-5:30pm
🚨 National Night Out Block Party | Green Mountain
- Location: Green Mountain Estates, Lakewood
- Lakewood Police are expected to be at the party for any question you may have and to play games with the kids. The fire department and other city officials will stop by if/when available. In past years, multiple police cars and fire trucks have stopped by for kids to climb in, but it is always dependent on if they are working or not.

🚨 National Night Out at Community Ministry of Southwest Denver
- Location: Community Ministry of Southwest Denver, Denver
- We will be celebrating the community with a resource fair, hotdogs, school supply giveaway, raffles, games and a lot of fun!

🚨 National Night Out in Columbine Hills
- Location: SW corner of Kendall and Canyon, Littleton
- An opportunity for neighbors to gather, enjoy a hotdog and a beverage, and address issues of safety and resources within our community. We partner with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and South Metro Fire and Emergency services.

🚨 National Night Out Ice Cream Social | Glennon Heights
- Location: James Harrison Park, Lakewood
- National Night out Ice cream social will be Tuesday August 5 from 6-7:30. NEW LOCATION- James Harrison park (Simms St Park) 544 S Simms.
- 6pm-7:30pm
🚨 National Night Out with the Golden Police Department
- Location: Parfet Park, Golden
- Connect with local law enforcement at this national community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships in Parfet Park. Bring the whole family for live music, root beer floats, police vehicles and services, A helicopter landing and more!
Free to attend. - 7:30pm-10pm
