What if, instead of screens and social media, your child’s summer could be full of creativity, connection, and genuine excitement?
The stage might not be the first thing you think of when you hear “summer,” but WAIT– before you stop reading– whether your child is the next Barbra Streisand or doesn’t even know who Barbra is, summer camps at Stagebugz Theatre offer something that other camps simply do not.
Did you know that theatre education has been proven to:
- Develop a sense of community and belonging
- Increase self-confidence and enhance public speaking ability
- Improve reading comprehension and language skills
Studies have shown a strong correlation between participation in theatre and higher SAT scores; lower rates of school dropout and disciplinary action; and substantial growth in self-motivation, creative problem-solving, and empathetic behavior. In short, theatre camp is a must for a meaningful, memorable summer.
What Parents of First-Time Performers are Saying: “This was my camper’s first theatre experience and it was accessible and he felt so welcomed! I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so excited for anything!” “Our girls have had a fantastic experience. They create such a supportive, fun, and inclusive atmosphere…Amazing what they achieved in just a week! “This was an amazing, inclusive, confidence-boosting program that my kids will be going back to!” |
Sound like an opportunity you can’t pass up?

Stagebugz Theatre Founders Aspen and Ashley Somers
Meet the Stagebugz Theatre Founders
Stagebugz Theatre was founded in 2021 by Colorado natives and accomplished performers Aspen and Ashley Somers, with the goal of creating the theatre education they wished they had access to growing up. Aspen and Ashley grew up performing around Colorado, before moving to Los Angeles to study theatre at the University of Southern California. Ashley is a seasoned actress and director in both theatre and film, with credits including guest spots on Emmy-winning television shows, leads in critically-acclaimed films, and over 12 years of experience in all aspects of the performing arts, from directing an innovative theatre in college to developing arts curricula for underserved kids in collaboration with members of Congress. She is also the founder of a student-led performing arts organization at USC, a producer with the film production company Angel Wing Productions, and a teaching artist at the Colorado School of Acting. However, Ashley's favorite thing in the world is teaching with Stagebugz!
Meanwhile, Aspen has acquired dozens of feature film and commercial credits, while her involvement in Colorado theatre since returning to the state has gained her several recognitions, including an OSCA Award and multiple Broadway World Regional Award Nominations. In addition to performing, she most recently directed Stagebugz's first TYA production of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," and her original play Cryptophasia premiered at the Shifted Lens Theatre in July of 2025. Sharing her passion for theater with young performers has been the greatest joy of Aspen's life.
