Chatfield Stables offers a hands on camp with horses only! No arts and crafts ---- just horses!
We are the longest running camp with horses in the area...each child has his/her own horse for the entire week. Your kids will get to lead, feed, water and work with their horse everyday. They learn horse care, including grooming and saddling. They water and feed their horses, learn to groom them, and take care of them after the day is done. Riding and working with the horse is the focus of our camps. We ride daily, whether it be in the arena, or out on trail!!
Kids bring a healthy lunch and drink in a cooler, which they will be able to enjoy in our shady area. Cowboy boots, long pants (jeans-with no glitter on the back pockets and no slick pants or sweats), a hat, and sunscreen are required. Bring your own approved riding helmet, or use one of ours free of charge.
CAMP DETAILS
- Open to ages 7 years old and older
- Camps take place every week from May 22 through August 18
- Each session is 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Additional and off-track sessions are also available
- Weekly Sessions
- Level 2 and upper level camp dates are to be determined
DISCOUNTS
$30 discount for multiple sessions or enrolling more than one child.
EXTRA RIDING TIME
Extend your child's camp day with the Pony Pals program! Pony Pals is a riding club for kids that just want to ride and have fun! Kids get to explore the trails in Chatfield State Park, see lots of wildlife, and just enjoy sitting on top of their own horse! Parents are welcome to ride along. There are 5 rides each week, with a total of 6 1/2 hours of riding time.
*Pony Pals and Horse Camps can be combined -- ask for discounted rates.
Please Note: Although the program is called Pony Pals, the kids ride full sized horses and not ponies.

Business Review
Our daughter and two of her friends spent a week in the summer camp. We are so glad we gave this place a chance. The staff and owner's priority in regards to kids and guests is safety. The girls thoroughly enjoyed taking care of a horse for a week and spending time riding on the trails. Each young wrangler received a nice certificate that included a photo of them on their horse. The parents spent some time chatting with Bob on the last day and we enjoyed his stories and it's helpful when one takes the time to get to know others. He's sincere and dedicated to the horses, the stables, and the kids. They kids will definitely go back to Chatfield Stables! (Willie)
