The official stable of Chatfield State Park is thrilled to be back for a third summer camp season in 2026!
Experienced stable owners, Gary and Michelle, who took over the stables in 2024, are excited to welcome your horse enthusiasts to the all new Big Horn Stables at Chatfield State Park.
Your camper will be assigned their own horse for the week. They will learn how to groom, saddle, and care for their horse, and have tons of fun learning in the Arena and on Trail Rides!
Our week-long day camps include Grooming, Anatomy, Arena Lessons, Horse Care, Trail Rides, Tack, and Horsemanship Classes.
On the last day of camp, we host a rodeo so the parents of all the buckaroos can come and see everything their kiddos have learned all week at camp!

- Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm
- Weekly sessions from May 18 through August 17

- $675 per week
- Non-refundable deposit due at registration, with the remaining amount due on the first day of camp

My granddaughter just completed the summer day camp, this experience totally exceeded what I thought the camp would be, Danielle the camp leader was just great, she was patient, and enthusiastic with the kids. There seemed to be very beginner kids up to fairly experienced riders, but it seemed everyone got attention and instruction. The last day each rider got a camp t-shirt, a personal photo on the trail and pic of various days during the week, a really nice touch for the kids to remember.
