Kid-Friendly Halloween Events on the Front Range 🎃

Celebrate the season of fall and Halloween by attending one of the Front Range's many animal encounters, trick-or-treat streets, fall festivals, or boos at the zoo ... just to name a few! 

Events are listed chronologically.

DENVER: Family By Day Fright Fest • Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park
Weekends September 28-October 28 from 12:00–5:00 PM

Halloween festivities invade the park throughout the day each weekend, plus all your favorite Theme Park rides too. Little ghosts and goblins can enjoy Free Candy on the Trick or Treat Trail and partake in several Halloween-themed interactive challenges. Appropriate for all ages.

WESTMINSTER: Bugtober: Toxic Terrors • Butterfly Pavilion
October 1-31 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Adults: $11 • Children (Ages 2-11): $7

Meet species that use powerful venom and poisons to ward off predators and dominate unsuspecting prey. Get up close and personal with some of nature's most impressive toxic terrors. Don't miss the return of the one-of-a-kind Spider Pavilion. Walk among incredible orb weaving spiders and their intricate web creations. Appropriate for all ages. 

DENVER: Enchanted Hallows • Denver Zoo
October 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, & 27 from 6:00–9:30 PM
Adults: $18 • Children (Ages 3-11): $12
At twilight, the darkness beckons you to return. Travel an eerie trail where the darkness has almost all but taken hold, echoes of the roots of Halloween, creatures and spirits infamous in stories and lore, rise to life in our new Woodland Hollow. Recommended for ages 8 and older.

CENTENNIAL: Pumpkin Festival • Tagawa Gardens
Weekends October 6-21 from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM
FREE Admission • Charge for pumpkins and some activities
Concerts, strolling puppets, decorate a pumpkin, and many other fun activities and entertainment. The last Sunday is the special "Kids Grapestomping" presented by Balistreri Vineyards, during which kids stomp grapes to make next year's batch of Little Feet Merlot, benefiting the Children's Hospital Foundation.  Appropriate for all ages.

DENVER: Pumpkin Harvest Festival • Four Mile Historic Park 
October 1-3, 2021 - October 1st: 5pm-8pm; October 2nd: 9am-8pm: October 3rd: 9am-5pm
$8-$16 General Admission; $35-$50 VIP Admission
Celebrate the arrival of autumn with old-fashioned fun! Enjoy family-friendly fall-themed prairie games, take-home crafts themed around pumpkin harvest and Fall, full bars, specialty drink features and the best of Denver food trucks, Fall artisan farmers market featuring a curated list of high quality, locally sourced vendors, and live music.  Appropriate for all ages.

AURORA: Punkin Chunkin Colorado • Arapahoe Park Racetrack

$5 for ages 5 and up • Some activities have an additional cost of $1-$5
Punkin chunkers come from all around to compete in the yearly games. This festival also has kids' crafts, live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, fall market, food vendors, and a beer garden. Appropriate for all ages.

October 29, 30 and 31, 2021 Halloween Trick or Treat Train! Family Friendly with candy for the kids.
Adults: Starting at $28.95 • Children (3-15): Starting at $22.95
The Pumpkin Fest train includes a train ride, face painting, games, a bounce castle, holiday characters, and best of all, children will receive a FREE pumpkin to take home. These excursions are a great way for families to spend quality time together. Appropriate for all ages.

LITTLETON: Pumpkin Festival • Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms
October 8-10, 2021 from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

Adults: $12 • Children (3-12): $10
Enjoy a day of fall activities at Chatfield Farms. Ticket price includes access to the 10-acre pumpkin patch and family and children’s activities. Pumpkin prices vary by size; the average price is $8. Free pumpkin daycare is available while you enjoy the rest of the festival. Appropriate for all ages.

ARVADA: Festival of Scarecrows • Olde Town Arvada Square 
October 13 from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
FREE Admission • Charge for pumpkins and some activities
Bring in the Fall with Scarecrows placed around Olde Town Arvada, a Pumpkin Patch, Kids Costume Parade, Giant Pumpkin Contest, Community Booths, Hayrides, Kids Activities, Food, Music, and more! Appropriate for all ages.

CENTENNIAL: Arapahoe County Fall Festival • 17 Mile House
October 13 from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
FREE admission (pumpkins and food available for purchase)
Pick your favorite pumpkin from the patch, enjoy a scenic hayride, listen to live music, try your luck at gold panning, explore skins and skulls, experience farm life activities, and visit the petting farm. Take a guided tour of the historic house and explore the Cherry Creek. Appropriate for all ages.

LAKEWOOD: Haunted Trail Adventure • Bear Creek Lake Park
October 16, 2021 from 4:00–7:00 PM

$5 for ages 4 and up
Experience Bear Creek Lake Park in all its ghoulish magic. Walk along the Owl Trail, discover the critters of the night, and enjoy carnival games. After your adventure warm your toes by the fire at the amphitheater and enjoy roasting marshmallows and sipping hot chocolate. Appropriate for all ages.

DENVER: HallowTeen Lounge • Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Get ready for a haunted good time at this fifth annual evening of wild costumes, scary stories, and spooky fun. Enjoy pizza, ghost stories, ghoulish games, and creepy-crafty stuff. Costumes strongly recommended for a contest. Teens (13-17) only. FREE!

DENVER: Glow at the Gardens • Botanic Gardens at York Street

Luminaria-­lined pathways wind through the grounds to reveal larger­-than-­life pumpkin displays. In addition, enjoy a wide array of activities including live music, costume contests, storytelling, scavenger hunt, face painting, hands-on crafts, and more. COLORADO SPRINGS: Boo at the Zoo • Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

At this fun event, families with young children to trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween festivities in a safe environment. Plus, all the candy distributed is made with sustainable palm oil to help protect wild orangutans! Appropriate for all ages.

DENVER: Boo at the Zoo • Denver Zoo
October 20, 21, 27 & 28 from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

The 34th annual Boo At The Zoo offers trick-or-treat stations, creepy crawly animal demonstrations, and exciting family-friendly entertainment under the canopy of the beautiful fall foliage of Denver Zoo. Appropriate for all ages.

DENVER: Boonion Station Halloween Parade & Party • Union Station

Bring your little ghosts, superheroes and princesses to enjoy trick-or treating at merchant shops, a costume parade, mini-train rides, balloon/facepaint artists, surprise costumed characters, and so much more. Prizes will be given for best costume and best group/family costume.

DENVER: Family Overnight: Halloween at the Museum • Denver Museum of Nature & Science
October 26–27 from 6:00 PM–10:00 AM
Adults: $80 • Children: $70
It's all treats in this overnight of ooey-gooey activities, spooky fun, and SCIENCE! Enjoy action-packed fun as you explore the temporary exhibition Mindbender Mansion, see an IMAX film and a planetarium show, and sleep in the diorama halls. Families with K-8th Graders.

LITTLETON: Haunted Hay Rides • Stockton's Plum Creek Stables 
October 29 & 30, 2021 from 6:00-9:00 PM
$12 per person
Storytellers narrate an amusing tale while you travel in a vehicle-drawn wagon for 30 minutes of scary family Halloween fun. Enjoy concessions and a petting zoo (for a small donation) before or after your ride! While the fright factor varies year to year, it is recommended ages 5 and younger ride while it's still daylight.

DENVER: Trick or Treat Street • Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus
October 26–28 from 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Ages 2-59: $16 • Age 1 & 60+: $14
For three days, the Children’s Museum will host the most boo-tiful fall festival in town, full of pumpkins, straw bales, delicious goodies, and the cutest costumed kids you’ve ever seen!  Note: This is a safe, friendly event for small children — no scary costumes and leave your strollers in the car please! Appropriate for all ages.

DENVER: Hauntings at the Hangar • Wings Over the Rockies

This Halloween, Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum will be transformed into a fun, spooky hangar filled with games, costumes, sci-fi characters, and more! Appropriate for all ages.

GOLDEN: Trick or Treat Train • Colorado Railroad Museum 
October 24 & 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
Adults: $10 • Children: $5, Train Rides: $4 adults • $2 ages 2-17
Catch a ride behind a historic Denver & Rio Grande Steam Locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by conductors and engineers in full costume. While we won’t have Trick-or-Treating as usual this year, there will still be treats for the kids! Tickle your funny bones at the “not so spooky” Haunted Railcar and the Olde Railroaders Silly Graveyard. Enjoy our live entertainment and visit our local vendors for a tasty snack. Appropriate for all ages.

DENVER: Halloween Kids Fest • Downtown Aquarium

Have a spooktacular time at our Halloween celebration! Join Sharkey and his friends for a fun weekend of spooky games, creepy prizes, wicked costume contest, crafts and more! Kids in costume get half-price exhibit tickets with adult purchase! Appropriate for all ages.
